Hey guys. It’s Shane from English Understood here.
‘How was your weekend’ is a very common question that native speakers use at the start of a new week.
We have used the word ‘was’ so that means this question is talking about the last weekend. It’s talking about the past.
For example, if today is Tuesday, it is talking about this weekend you can see right here.
To answer this question, you can say ‘It was’ and then describe your weekend. You can say ‘My weekend was’ and then you describe your weekend.
My weekend was great.
It was a little bit boring.
My weekend was super busy.
You can also give an example of what you did on the weekend.
My weekend was great. I went to the movies with my friend. Remember. Use the past tense.
Now if you want to ask the other person about their weekend, simply add ‘What about yours’ at the end of your answer. My weekend was great. I went to the movies with my friend. What about yours?
