This is how native English speakers say ‘What are you doing’ very quickly. What are you doin’? What are you doin’?
Hey guys. It’s Shane from English Understood here.
‘What are you doing’ is one of the most common questions that you will hear in English but don’t worry because it’s very easy to answer.
‘What are you doing’ normally means ‘What are you doing right now at this moment’.
The question has -ing so that means the answer must also have -ing. So to answer ‘What are you doin”, simply say ‘I’m’ plus verb plus -ing.
I’m eating. I’m working. I’m filming this YouTube video.
You can also answer by saying ‘Not much’ or ‘Nothing much’ if you don’t want to tell the person what you’re doing [or you actually are not doing much!]
And as always, if you want to ask the other person the same question, simply add ‘What about you’ after your answer. I’m filming this YouTube video. What about you?
So now let me ask you a question. What are you doing? Comment down below.
